Inside KitKat Club Berlin: A Floor-by-Floor Guide

We decided to take you with us and go through KitKat Club floor by floor, and give you a real sense of what each space actually feels like.

It’s funny how many times people talk about their first visit to KitKat and realize later they only saw one floor. Some stay on the main floor, some only find Prisma, and many don’t even know there’s a whole underground level. KitKat is big, layered, and easy to miss if you don’t know where to go.

I once met someone who felt uncomfortable because she ran into a person she didn’t want to see. I told her, “You’re in KitKat — it’s huge. You can walk for hours and barely cross the same face twice.” She didn’t believe it until we walked through the club together.

So in this blog, we’ll go through every floor of KitKat Club, one by one.

This guide is connected mainly to Saturday’s CarneBall Bizarre, but you can also experience all floors open during Four Play, Piepshow, and Gegen.

 

The Main Floor

When you step onto the main floor, you arrive at the core of KitKat.

This is the one floor that stays open from the first moment until the very end of the day.

The sound is rough and strong, not the clearest. The lights change from time to time. The whole atmosphere is charged with a sex vibe that mixes into the crowd.

They usually play techno, more in the mainstream genre. Most of the DJs on Saturdays have been playing there for almost 20 years — the same people almost all the time. The music can be repetitive, but it’s also beautiful that the same DJs keep playing for so long.

The people are a mix of everything. It’s all about sex, music, and being open. Naked people, latex, colorful outfits, costumes. Most people dance, but they’re always looking around — the looks, the smiles, the vibe. Everyone communicates. And when they feel like it, they move to the sides and play.

There are many areas to play around the main floor — next to it, under the second floor, near the stage, even on the dance floor itself. Conversations happen around the dance floor — in the sofas and play zones.

The bass is strong. When it’s full, it’s wild — a mess. People get crazy, people get sexy. Sometimes there’s an orgy right inside the dance floor. A lot of touch, showing, kissing, making out — everything.

The main floor is the core of KitKat.

 

 

The Dragon Floor

The Dragon Floor is smaller than the main one, a bit foggy, and darker in light. The sound system is stronger, and the music is usually faster and darker than on the main floor, although it changes sometimes.

Next to the DJ, stairs lead up to a big play area surrounded by sofas. It’s one of the most active spaces in the club. There is a lot of action — BDSM, group play, and people watching.

Upstairs, on the right side, there’s a king-style chair where I sometimes sit and watch everyone. On the opposite side, there’s a gynecologic chair that gets a lot of attention. The crowd feels very KitKat, but with more BDSM energy than elsewhere.

The Dragon Floor usually stays open until around 8 AM on Sunday morning.

It’s intense, playful, and one of the coolest floors in the club.

 

 

Séparée

Under the Dragon Floor, you find the Séparée — a very small dance floor that many people miss. Before COVID, it often played Arabic or Middle Eastern–inspired music, usually with a queer DJ, and every time it feels different.

It’s a tiny space — maybe 50 people when it’s full — but that’s part of its charm. It’s a good place to meet people, to slow down for a moment. I’ve never played there myself, but I always liked starting my Saturdays here: sitting, talking, having a drink, and then getting lost inside KitKat.

The DJ booth is above you when you go down, and next to it there’s a small sofa area where people sometimes play. It feels a bit like a dungeon, but with an optimistic vibe — dark, but still warm.

 

 

Prisma Bar

You can reach Prisma Bar either from the main floor or by going up from Séparée and taking a left.

Prisma sometimes works as a stand-alone space, hosting well-known afterparties like Sssmile*, and the newer monthly Dayrave, which takes place right after the Four Play party.

When you enter, you see a bar with great cocktails, long sofas to chill, and a dance floor with what many people say is the best sound system in the club. There’s a mirrored toilet area, another small bar with sofas, and upstairs a small balcony where you can look down at the dance floor or dance above everyone. Next to the upstairs toilets, there is also a play area.

Prisma is beautifully designed, with a lot of attention to detail, and it’s a favorite space for many KitKat regulars.

 

 

The Swimming Pool Area

Right after entering the club, you’ll see the swimming pool bar, and just behind it, the swimming pool itself.

There’s a saying: “Never jump into the swimming pool in KitKat.” It’s an urban fairytale. When we at THE CODE did a synchronized swimming performance for Four Play in 2023, we realized the water is actually very clean, with a lot of chlorine inside. Still, you normally won’t see people swimming — maybe one or two in the summer — because the water is very, very cold.

The pool has a center platform and places to sit all around. It’s one of the few areas where you can get daylight when the sun comes up. For me, this is the place to chill down from the whole roller coaster that is KitKat Club.

From 8 to 10 PM, they host a naked quartet that plays beautiful classical music — completely naked, exactly as the name says. I highly recommend coming early, because KitKat on Saturdays (and many other parties there) opens at 8 PM.

On Saturdays, there is also a sauna, naked only, and they provide towels. In one corner, there’s a pizza place where you can eat a very nice pizza inside KitKat. Once in a while, you’ll see someone offering a normal massage for a donation.

The swimming pool area has its own character — a place to relax and enjoy. You can see some action there, and I remember many moments from the past, but lately it feels more calm and chill.

 

It’s funny how many people miss one of the most amazing parts of KitKat again and again. The whole downstairs level feels like a different world, and so many people don’t even realize it exists. This floor has its own rhythm and atmosphere — starting with the hall, moving into the hospital hall, and then opening into Vierter Raum and Salon Rouge. To really understand KitKat, you have to go down there.

 

 

Hall & Hospital Hall

When you go downstairs from the entrance area, you pass a hall with psychedelic photos, then a very busy but good toilet, and long sofas on the left side. From there, you reach what I call the Hospital Hall.

There are hospital beds, and a lot of action happening — sex, BDSM, and many other forms of play. This area is full of small details, and you really feel that a lot of attention was put into it. It’s intense, raw, and very characteristic of KitKat.

 

Vierter Raum

From the Hospital Hall, if you take a right, you’ll already hear the sound coming from Vierter Raum. This is one of my favorite dance floors in the whole club — my favorite place to dance and one of my favorite places to play. We at THE CODE hosted this floor during Four Play several times.

On Saturdays, the floor is run by Disco Bizarre, a collective focused on disco and dark disco, bringing very high-quality DJs. The vibe here is completely different from the rest of the club — groovy, playful, and sexy.

Vierter Raum is the second biggest dance floor in KitKat, and there is always a lot happening around it. Before you enter, there’s a nice KitKat bar serving the space.

 

Salon Rouge

If you continue a bit further and take a left, you’ll arrive at Salon Rouge. As the name says, it’s a salon — a space full of sofas and beds, warm light, and a relaxed atmosphere.

Sometimes there are DJs, sometimes performances, and the cocktails are amazing. If you don’t feel like partying too hard, or if you want to rest, talk, and relax, Salon Rouge is the perfect place for that. It’s calm, elegant, and very beautiful.

 

KitKat is not a club you “finish” in one night. It’s a place you slowly understand, floor by floor, visit by visit. Every space has its own rhythm, its own people, its own moment. I tried to summarize it as shortly as I could — of course, many details are missing — but this should give you a real idea of what’s going on inside. If you really want to experience KitKat, don’t stay in one place. Walk, get lost, go downstairs, go upstairs, and let the night (or day) take you where it wants.
